The Memphis Creation Myth
Ptah, the father of Gods, conceived of all the universe
in his heart and then named all things. And by naming them, the were created.
First he created the other gods and cults to worship them.
Towns with shrines were created for each god. And the order of the land
was created.
He then peopled the universe by naming each and every creature
and thing, even the foreign people and animals. And the world was populated,
and the people lived in order and worshipped the gods.
